A
message from the Superintendent of Ann Arbor Public Schools
On June 14, 2004, the voters of the Ann Arbor Public School District
will have an opportunity to authorize a far reaching plan by approving a
bond and sinking fund proposal:
- Build a third comprehensive high school
- Modernize all existing schools
- Enhance instructional technology
- Expand preschool programming
- Create a model middle school at Scarlett and
- Upgrade buses and musical instruments.
What began as a concern over high school overcrowding evolved into a complete
examination of the student achievement and related program needs of the
district. Now voters have an opportunity to approve a plan that is
comprehensive.
Our goal throughout the development of the plan has been to provide students
with a better learning environment, especially facilities and technology that
have a direct impact on increased achievement. This plan impacts the entire
district from pre-kindergarten through high school.
